This bar plot shows the total military spending of the 10 countries.
  • The United States dominiates other countries over the total military spending.
  • China is in second place, in which military spending is twice as much spending as in the rest of the countries.

    Per capita military spending compare to per capita GDP

    According to the per capita bubble chart, there is a positive correlation between the per capita military spending and per capita GDP. The bubble size shows the population size of the country.
  • China per capita data is low due to large population.
  • The United States is the third most populous country, but it's per capita data is still the highest.
  •  

    Military spending growth(2011-2016)

    Military spending growth in absolute value and in percentage are shown on the same plot.
  • Only China and India have a positive growth.
  • The United States has significant negative growth in absolute value, but when refer to the percentage, it is only -16%, a decrease that is smaller than most of the countries where the growth is negative.
  • Brazil experienced the largest percentage decrease in military spending, about -34%.
